Tips For Purchasing Cowboy Boots
Cowboy boots are crafted in many styles and colors. Therefore, many people may find it difficult to buy the proper pairs. In this article, you will find some useful tips for helping you get the perfect one.
First of all, think about what you are going to use your cowboy boots for. If you are working on a farm, be sure to choose a style that is both comfortable and durable to wear since you tend to work for long hours every day. It is better to choose waterproof boots such as the ones made of leather. For people who are more concerned about how their boots look, it is suggested that they select fancy designs with fabulous colors. There are many different cowboy boots that are both fashionable and suitable for work wear.
Then pick out a pair that is comfortable to wear and fits properly. The boots have different toe shapes. If you have big toes or wide feet, never choose pointy-toed boots which will squeeze the front part of your feet. Make sure to try cowboy boots on and see if they are comfortable or not before you make the final decision. If you purchase your pair from the internet, bear in mind to choose a seller offering return policies and money-back guarantees in case the boots do not fit properly or are uncomfortable to wear.
Finally, examine the pair you are going to buy carefully. If there is any loose thread or seam or glue residue on your boots, then change for another pair. A perfect pair of cowboy boots should be made of high quality materials and crafted with fabulous care.

How to Create a Special Atmosphere For Your Restaurant
When deciding on how to create a down home atmosphere for your bar or restaurant, you need to consider several factors.
Take your average steak house for instance. If you remember, they usually have an earthy atmosphere that makes you think, “I’m about to eat some dead cow. YUM.” I’m not sure what it is about steak houses, but the ambiance that they provide gets you ready to eat dead animal flesh.
But what about the furniture? In 9 out of 10 instances, the furniture is simple wooden chairs and tables with a dark finish. In fact, the overall mood of a steak house is geared towards people with “common” tastes who want to eat big. By eat big, I mean to say they want to have a night on the town and have a good meal. Your average Joe is going to spend his money at a fancy steak house before going to a fancy French restaurant.
It is for this reason that steak houses are so popular. They are not intimidating whatsoever. After all, what red blooded American doesn’t like steak?
But getting back to the furniture, go to any steak house in your city or town and you’ll see what I mean. Wooden tables, wooden chairs, wooden everything. The servers probably wear cowboy boots and denim uniforms.
If you want to spend a bit more money and include some nice upholstering on your furniture, make sure you stick with darker colors. The last thing you want is to have a steak house that looks like it was attacked by the Easter bunny. Instead, go for hardwood furniture made from woods like mahogany and oak. If you have control over the type of finish, go DARK.
If you don’t want to go with any of those hardcore woods and prefer to use something lighter instead, I recommend you go with bamboo. Bamboo is a very strong wood which is also very light, both in color and in weight. But aside from that, bamboo is just plain cool.
While yes, it may be off putting to some of the meat and potatoes crowd, it will give your restaurant that buzz factor. In general, any excuse you can give people to talk about your bar or restaurant that doesn’t have to do with finding discarded body parts in the food is good publicity.
If you’re feeling especially brave, and have a couple extra dollars to throw at your furniture budget, you could consider going with some fancy metal stuff. Shiny chrome, everybody likes shiny chrome! Just imagine the scene: customers walk into your steak house which looks perfectly normal from the outside. When they walk inside, they hear loud techno music, see flashing lights and reflections from all the chrome table tops and furniture!
You could call your restaurant The Boom Boom Steak House! Reservations for two?

Your Purse and You
In almost any woman’s wardrobe, there is one pair of shoes that she just cannot live without. They fit perfectly and they look good. You’re probably thinking of a pair right now that are either on your feet or sitting in your closet. What you probably weren’t thinking was that this pair of shoes tells so much about you.
If your favorite pair of shoes are a pair of leopard print stilettos, then you are mostly likely a hoochy mama. You have big boobs and great legs and people turn and look when you enter the room. Be careful though girlfriend. There’s no need to show off all of your goods. Focus on one of your fine assets and leave the rest to the imagination.
If sneakers are your absolute favorite pair and you love wearing them to the gym, then you are the tomboy of the bunch. Your nails may be rough and your arms may be strong, however, don’t be afraid to let your girly side show every once in a while.
Moccasins may be the one’s you’re thinking of. If this the case, the you probably wear little makeup and are a natural beauty. You love taking care of others and you are just a simple girl. Stay that way; we need more people like you in our lives.
If your favorite pair are cowboy boots, then keep your head high and be proud of who you are. Be sure to smile often and don’t be afraid to try some new activities every once in a while.
If you have so many shoes, that you can’t decide which ones are your favorite, then you are a diva. Next time you’re cleaning out your closet though, take a pair or two of shoes that you don’t wear very often and donate them to a local mission store.
If you prefer going barefoot, I am truly impressed by how tough you are. Enjoy the hot summers and long walks by the beach, but remember to invest in a few pairs for church and the winter season.
Shoes can tell so much; let me know if I pinpointed you!

Tips to Find Great Western Apparel For Horse Riding Shows and Contests
Putting together western apparel outfits for horse riding shows and contests has never been easier with so many products available today. After all, you can quickly browse through many western apparel items on the Internet or visit a local specialty store if you live near one. The key is to know what you’re looking for and how to create the look and feel you want. Here are some must-haves when selecting your western apparel.
Cowboy Hat
Choose a show cowboy hat that blends well with your outfit while adding flair. Make sure it fits comfortably and won’t fly off from the slightest breeze. The hat should allow some air to flow to keep your head cool, and should cling without causing discomfort. You can choose from a felt hat or a straw (paper fiber) hat. Judge a hat by its design, quality and smoothness. More expensive hats will usually hold their shape longer and repel moisture and dirt to keep the hat in top shape. Straw hats tend to be popular in spring and summer, or where the climate is always humid.
Hat colors can make a difference in your overall appearance while riding. A dark western hat can make you look shorter. A pale-colored hat may appear to add a few inches to your stature. Choose colors and styles wisely before making a purchase so you’ll look your best when in the spotlight. Also, look for quality brand names such as Stetson hats for long-lasting wear.
Shirts, Vests and Jackets
Shirts should be the button-up style in a color that compliments your hat and show pants. If you plan to wear the shirt without a vest or jacket, choose one with fancy designs such as rhinestones, embroidery or tassels. With a vest, wear a plain colored or black shirt and choose a vest with fancy embellishments (front and back) to help you shine during the show. Also, be sure to choose a shirt and vest that fit snugly for ultimate comfort while riding. Find a vest designed to fit neatly while buttoned, but make sure it allows plenty of breathing room and space around the armpits for free movement. Decorated jackets work well when riding in cold temperatures, but may not allow as much movement as a vest. Find a short jacket that fits well with chaps and show pants without bunching at the hips. Avoid blazers for most horse shows unless you are attending Quarter horse shows or stock breed events. Consider this choice carefully to ensure you can maneuver at your very best.
Western Jeans and Riding Pants
For men, opt for the standard, starched classic blue jeans when participating in smaller horse shows. Make sure they fit snugly so the jeans won’t gather under the chaps. When riding in serious competitions, consider buying pleated denim or khakis along with a basic shirt and sport coat to dress up your attire a bit for the show. Nothing real fancy, just a step up from the traditional show wardrobe. Women should really consider show pants made of polyester (just slightly stretchy) that are plain fitted with no pockets instead of jeans for shows. Many women’s jeans that are fashion-style tend to ride up when in the saddle. Depending on body shape, fashion jeans may also become bulky and uncomfortable at the belly or under the chaps when riding. Consider pants that zip on the side and remain flat on the stomach, or have some tailor-made if you can’t find them in stores. Also, notice if there are belt loops large enough to fit your western style belt.
Western Apparel Colors
Choose your colors based on the color of your horse and its mane. This is important because you don’t want to clash with your horse, but blend to create a winning image. Folks in the audience will see your horse more than your outfit from far away. So show clothing, saddle, blanket, etc. should coordinate to create a look of “oneness” with your horse.
Choosing Chaps
Chaps are meant to build a country/western image as well as provide protection for the legs and knees. When shopping for chaps, look for thigh reinforcements to minimize stretching of the material and quality zippers, D rings, buckles, etc. for longer wear. Choose brass over aluminum. Also, choose chaps with heavy shaped cuffs and yokes as well as quality workmanship in genuine leather or synthetic suede. Expect to fork out a few hundred bucks for a reliable, fashionable pair of chaps!
Boots for You
Cowboy or show boots should be chosen carefully according to your foot shape, width and boot size. Some boots are narrow while others are wider. Some have leather, technical or crepe soles. Opt for leather if possible because leather allows for breathing, it stretches, and it dries easily to provide a cooler, more comfortable wear. A good alternative to leather soles is synthetic crepe, which is softer and thicker than leather, and offers great padding and insulation when standing for long periods of time. Thick boots with crepe soles may not work well when riding, however, so test out your boots with your own stirrups if possible to be sure they will be compatible and provide a safe fit. The boots should slip from the stirrup easily in case of an emergency. A highly recommended boot for show riding is the basic, Roper style boot with a slightly rounded toe and low top.
Keep in mind that your boots will not show that much as will the rest of your western apparel, so it’s better to choose boots for practicality, comfort and safety. Some quality brands to look for include Dan Post Boots, Tony Lama, Justin, Lucchese and Laredo.
Look for great brands such as Stetson, Bailey and Tony Lama when shopping for western apparel. Find a specialty western store online to enjoy a vast selection of products at affordable prices. Many online stores offer everything from horse tack, bridles and saddles to western apparel for shows and leisure riding. Use these ideas to create a winning western look everywhere you go!
